On what kind of transporter will my vehicle be carried?
Most are transported via multiple car
carriers, the same type used to transport new
vehicles from the manufacturing plant to dealerships.
How long does it take to have my vehicle transported?
For vehicles being transported over 1,000 miles, the typical transit time is 7 to 14 days assuming we receive a 1 week advance notice. We
would like to have a 2-3 business day window to schedule the pickup of your
vehicle, however, same day service is available with advance notice. Our
typical transit time of 7-14 days is an estimated time of arrival. If you
need your vehicle delivered in a specific time frame, we do offer expedited
service with guaranteed delivery dates (There is an
additional charge for this service).
Is my vehicle insured?
For your protection, A AAAdvantage Auto Transport, Inc. carries
$2,000,000 public Liability Insurance
and $100,000 Cargo Insurance.
What steps
are involved in shipping my vehicle?
Once your order is placed and all paperwork submitted, the transport of
your vehicle will be scheduled according to the dates on your Shipping
Order. After a truck has been assigned, you will receive a call from the
driver or terminal to schedule a pickup date and time. When the driver picks
up your vehicle he will perform a detailed inspection of your vehicle on a
Bill of Lading. Both the person releasing the vehicle and the driver will
sign this Bill of Lading and one copy is left at the vehicle point of origin. The same
Bill of Lading will be present on delivery so that the vehicle can be re-inspected before released. The driver or terminal should
again call 12-24 hours in advance to schedule the delivery of the vehicle.
Will my
vehicle be picked up or delivered to a terminal?
In most cases, a terminal is used to pickup and/or deliver your
vehicle. This is necessary because car carriers are 75 feet long and are
unable to enter most neighborhoods. Therefore, our terminal, will use smaller flatbed trucks to assure safe and efficient service. Our terminal
will call to schedule the pickup and/or delivery of your vehicle and in most
cases will give you a 12-24 hour notice of pickup and/or delivery. Additionally, you may also drop your vehicle at the terminal or pick it up
from them if the scheduling is inconvenient.
Can I pack
personal items in my vehicle?
Items left in the vehicle are not covered by
carrier insurance. You can put up to 50lbs of personal items in your vehicle. We do
ask that the items be confined to the trunk area. All personal items are
placed in the vehicle at the owner's risk. We do not recommend packing
electronics, breakable items or items of great monetary or sentimental value.
How
can I verify that a carrier has a proper government license and bond
to conduct business?
