Car Carrier Reviews

Posted on November 07, 2011 by Cat

If you are thinking of using a car carrier, you may be wondering where you can find some reviews from other people who have used the services of auto movers so that you can decide whether or not this is the right service for you to use. So here we have put together some car carrier reviews from different customer experiences.

I just wanted to say that you for the car carrier service that you provided for us last month. My vehicle arrived safely in Savannah and I was able to start work on time thanks to using your service. I certainly wouldnt hesitate to use auto movers again to make my move.

My son used your car carrier service after college and we recently needed to relocate our own car to our holiday home in Florida. Your service was extremely prompt and the professionals who collected our car were very pleasant and made sure that they loaded onto the truck carefully. We arrived in Florida the day before our car, and again the delivery was smooth and we were glad to see that everything arrived in one piece. Thank you very much to auto movers.

Auto movers were an absolute savior when our usual car carrier let us down to move our car to a show in California. As it turns out, our car won that show and we were then offered a price that was too good to refuse so making the move turned out great for us. As seasoned customers of a car carrier service I can truly say that what you offered us was far superior and the equipment that turned up to collect the vehicle was in perfect condition.

Your staff were so incredibly knowledgeable and even although our car is rare, they showed that they had experience in using the gentle touch to put our minds at ease. Anyway, I just wanted to say that Im glad we found you and when we get our next collector car, you will be the first car carrier that we use to move a car.

These are just a few of the many reviews that we receive from people who have used auto movers to relocate their vehicle and if you have any queries at all about what we can do for you, or if you are wondering what the cost of the relocation that you need may be, then feel free to drop us a line, were waiting to hear from you!

Car Carriers to Move His Car

Posted on October 24, 2011 by Cat

My son has just graduated college and was offered a job in Kansas City with a large construction firm, and so we decided to look into using car carriers to move his car from college so that he wouldnt have to drive. Of course, if this had been a road trip with friends, it might have been a different scenario, but we decided that since he was going alone it would be safer to find someone else to relocate the vehicle.

I started out by asking my local car dealer if they used any car carriers with their business, and they were quite helpful but the problem was that everyone they usually used would only deal with businesses that were shipping multiple cars. We only had one car to move, and didnt have a business so that was a dead end street. But the good thing was that when I was talking to these car carriers they told me some of the things that I needed to look out for when we were moving his car such as being sure that the transport company had the right licenses, which I didnt know anything about, and they told me that if I felt suspicious of any car carriers I should just call the department of transport to check.

I then went on the computer and looked for local car carriers to move his car from home and found out that there were thousands of results that came up. The problem was that I didnt really know where to start, so I decided to start ringing them and get quotes for the move. Every time I spoke to someone they would give me a little information that I needed and sometimes that would spur me to ask a question on the next call. For example, I never realized that not all car carriers were including insurance in their quote. And whats more, some of the so-called companies I was calling were actually going to just get someone else to drive the car to the destination, which wasnt what I wanted at all.

I eventually chose a car carriers that were able to load the car onto a full size trailer and move it for a good price, including insurance. The move took less that one week and we were all very happy with the results to move his car to Kansas City.

Safe Car Transport with Car Carriers

Posted on October 19, 2011 by Cat

I dont know about you, but I am quite pedantic about my vehicle. Even although its nothing special, it holds lots of personal memories and so when I needed to move, I knew that I needed to use a safe car transport company as I certainly would not have been happy with just any car carriers taking my vehicle and causing any sort of damage.

So my first port of call was online, where I decided to do some research about car carriers in the local area and discover who it was that people were recommending and which provided safe car transport. I was shocked to find that there were many complaints against some of the bigger companies who had appeared to be professional outfits. Of course, I took this all with a pinch of salt, but some of the negative reviews that I found seemed to be fairly realistic.

It was then that I thought I would ask around my friends to find out if any of them had used car carriers to move vehicles at any point. I was amazed to find out that even although my friends hadnt directly used this service, they were happy to refer me to others who had used safe car transport companies and would be able to recommend to me the best ones to use. Everyone was so incredibly friendly, and I was grateful of the advice that they gave me in relation to my questions.

When I then looked back on the internet about the car carriers my acquaintances had suggested, I found that people were happy with their service, and that although there had been some incidents, these were to be expected and so I decided to make the call to these car carriers to get pricing to move my car. I was very happy with the prices that they game back to me with and so I decided to ask a few more questions and get some written quotes so that I could decide which of these businesses would be the best for me to use.

Once I had written quotes, I was able to compare what was on offer and could decide which of these safe car transport companies that I could use for my move. I was very happy with the outcome of this and my car arrived safely at its destination on time and without any incidents.

Reasons for using Enclosed Auto Transport

Posted on October 05, 2011 by Cat

Have you heard of enclosed auto transport but you are wondering why you would use this service when you have the option of utilising something else? Well, if you have a car that requires some extra protection, such as an exotic vehicle, then when you are using a car carrier you might want to have the added security of an enclosed transporter.

One thing to note about enclosed auto transport is that in general, there is a smaller demand for this service and therefore, a smaller supply, which means that it can be more difficult to organise at a short notice, because these car carriers can fill up quickly.

One of the biggest reasons that people opt for an enclosed option is that their vehicle is protected from nature, and that means some of the most simple things such as UV rays, that can damage the paint on your vehicle, particularly if you have a custom paint job. This is often one of the major reasons that people opt to use a car carrier, and so if you can protect from the weather, you may want to use that option.

Much like this, people choose enclosed auto transport to protect their vehicle from dust that gets onto and also inside their vehicle and can be difficult to clean. When you consider that a car carrier can protect your vehicle from this, as it is effectively a garage on wheels, then you wont have the difficulty of trying to remove dirt from hard places.

In addition, when you used enclosed auto transport, your car is protected from debris and road grime. That means that all those little rocks that can cause chips on the paint and glass cant happen. If your exotic car is at risk of damage, then a car carrier can aid to stop this.

Lastly, you may be someone who doesnt want the world to see your exotic car. Just because you own this great vehicle doesnt mean that you want people to see it being transported across the country. An enclosed trailer means that your car can be moved privately, without the risk of anyone seeing it and have the opportunity to cause damage.

So next time that you are looking for a car carrier to move your exotic car, ask whether or not an enclosed solution is available for you to utilize to move your vehicle.

Car Moving for Street Rods

Posted on September 28, 2011 by Cat

My husband is the proud owner of a 1932 Ford Coupe, but he recently decided to sell it and so we needed to find a car moving company as the buyer was located interstate. We called various friends who are also car enthusiasts to see if they had any specific advice that we could use to best move our car, and whether we should use a trailer as a form of do it yourself move, or if there was another option.

Our main issue was the cost of gas. Because the buyer was interstate, it would cost a small fortune to drive the car there on a trailer and then have to drove all the way home again, and many of the companies that we contacted were asking for more than $2000 to move our car. Of course, this was too much and so we eventually were put onto a car moving company that specialized in moving vehicles all over the country and had experience moving classic and collector cars.

Its important to remember that my husband is pedantic about this vehicle, as he built it from the ground up, and even although he was selling it, he needed to make sure that everything was just find and no ordinary car moving company would do. The company that we used arrange a tilt tray truck to come and collect the car from our home before, it was driven to a central deport to be loaded onto an interstate car carrier trailer. It would take three days for the car to be moved to its new location, and the car carrier would tell us if there was anything that they needed to know while they move our car.

Im glad to say that everything went off without a hitch. The car was loaded onto the interstate trailer and the car moving company got it to its destination on time. It arrived in perfect condition and the new owner was very happy. This was the first time that we had ever used a car moving company for anything like this, so Im pleased that they were professional when moving our car. I couldnt have been happier that it all got there on time and we were able to make the exchange with the buyer as agreed. In the future, I certainly wouldnt hesitate to use a car moving service for anything else that we may need.

Should I Use a Car Carrier

Posted on May 20, 2011 by Cat

If you are one of the many Americans who has to move for work because of the recent recession, you may be wondering whether you should use a car carrier service to move your vehicle or simply sell your car. Let me tell you from my own perspective when I had to move from Steamboat Springs to Nebraska in search of work earlier this year.

Of course, moving across two states is not a big distance, but I looked at using a car carrier because I simply didnt have time to make the move any other way. I had temporary work in Colorado and was moving straight to a new job in Nebraska without any break. Driving for two days was too much to bear and I thought that maybe selling my car was the best way to go.

Unfortunately, the problem with this was that making a sale would mean losing money due to low demand for used cars. That meant that I researched car carries who move your vehicle quickly for a small fee.

I was surprised by how cheap it was for me to use a car carrier for my medium sized Toyota, and I was pleased that my car would be there in just two days. They told me all the things I needed to know when you move your vehicle so I was prepared when the collection day came. I chose to fly to Lincoln and the next day my car was there, it was simple and hassle free so Im glad I used a car carrier.

When you move across the country, you have two choices, you can either ship your car to your new location, or you can sell it. Depending on your circumstances, one option may seem better than the other, and its a good idea to get prices before you decide what it actually best.

First up, you should remember that unfortunately your car will probably not have held its value. That means that selling could me you make a big loss on the value of your car. In addition, if you sell you will most likely have to buy another car when you get to your destination, which can add an additional cost.

In comparison, the cost of auto shipping can vary dependant on where you are starting from and where you need to go and also how fast a service you expect. What this means is that if you ship you car, it can actually cost much less that you would expect and you will also find that you could save money from utilising the other option.

When you decide to choose auto shipping make sure that the carrier you select is one that you are wise to choose, and also make sure that they have all the correct licenses to ship your car. Can I Leave Gasoline In My Car When Shipping A Vehicle?

Posted on October 01, 2010 by Cat

When you first start to learn about shipping a vehicle you will find that the car carrier will have one different rules for preparing your vehicle that you must adhere to if you want your car shipping to run smoothly. One of the things that they will tell you about is how much gasoline you are allowed to have in your car when shipping a vehicle.

The car carrier will base their price on may different things such as the distance that your car is travelling, its size and also your requirements. One thing that you may not realize is that car carriers also take into account the weights required when shipping a vehicle. Of course, one way that they can reduce the weight of their load is to ask you not to leave too much gasoline in your car.

You might not think that the weight of gasoline would make a big difference when shipping a car, but in fact, when you consider that some big SUVs have large tanks, the weight of a full tank of gas can make a big difference to the car carrier.

For this reason, a car carrier will generally ask that you leave a quarter tank of gas only when shipping a vehicle. A quarter tank of gas should be enough to get you to the nearest gas station at your destination, and also is light enough that the car carrier can give you the lowest price for shipping a vehicle. Many companies have different rules, so just ask your car carrier exactly what they would like you to do.

What Happens If The Car Carrier Cant Get Into The Pick Up Location?

Posted on September 29, 2010 by Cat

One scenario which many car carrier companies have to face on a regular basis is that when they arrive to collect a vehicle, there is no one at home. Its a common mistake that many people make when they are shipping a car from one place to another, they assume that the car carrier will simply be able to use a winch to load their car whether they are at home or not.

Unfortunately, this is not the case. When you are shipping a car, you will be advised that someone must be available to hand over the vehicle to a representative from the car carrier company. This means that they will also complete a pre transport damage check and give you the necessary paperwork to ensure that all the correct insurances are in place before the car transport begins.

If for some reason you are not available when the car carrier comes to collect your vehicle, then unfortunately the process for shipping a car cannot proceed. Of course, the consequences of this are that because you have enlisted this service and will have paid a deposit to secure the service, you will most likely forfeit your deposit and will have to rearrange a time for shipping a car.

This is why it is imperative that you ensure that someone is available to hand over your vehicle to the car carrier within the times for shipping a car that have been given to you by the car carrier company when you arranged the service.

How Are The Car Shipping Costs Calculated?

Posted on September 23, 2010 by Cat

A question that you probably have in regards to car shipping is how are the costs calculated and how will you know that you are getting a good deal for relocating a car? Its a good question to ask and there are lots of different factors that contribute to the cost of car shipping, so lets break it down.

When you contact a car shipping company, or make an enquiry about relocating a car you will be offered a variety of different services that each contribute to the cost. For example, using an enclosed car shipping trailer is more expensive than an open air car carrier, and a smaller truck like a hot rod, is a more expensive way to relocate a car than using a multi-vehicle trailer.

Once you have worked out these few points there are also some other points to consider. Many people ask for their car shipping to be done on a door-to-door basis. This means that you car is collected from your home or workplace and delivered to the address that you specify at the other end. What this means is that the car shipping company will need to send a staff member to your location, rather than you taking the car to a centralized point, which is a cheaper choice when relocating a car.

Finally, please note that while distance can contribute to the cost of car shipping, popular routes for relocating a car such as New York to Los Angeles can actually cost far less than you may imagine.

Car shipping brokers are often avoided by people, through promotion of outrageous deals, but there in actual fact using car shipping brokers can save you money. These businesses can offer you some of the very best deals available to move your vehicle.

Car shipping brokers are often middlemen between you the shipper and the actual vehicle transport carrier. Car Shipping Guide - Part 2

Posted on February 10, 2010 by Cat

Car shipping Guide Part 2 continues where we left off in the initial part of our Car Shipping Guide looking at the different methods of car shipping which are available when you need to move your vehicle. Today, were going to look at the car train as a form of auto transport so that you can understand what using the car train means and whether this is an appropriate way for you to move your vehicle.

Firstly, it is important that you understand that the car train does not operate to every destination in the country. In fact, the car train only goes to certain destinations on certain routes, so if you are thinking about moving your car with the car train, your first port of call should be to check the national rail carrier website to check that both your start point and destinations are serviced by the car train. If you are willing to drive some distance, you may be able to locate a car train service in your vicinity, although this can be less convenient than using other forms of auto transport.

As part of this car shipping guide, we would recommend that when you use the car train you carefully check the arrival time for your vehicle. There are set times for specific vehicle sizes and although this can cause quite an inconvenience, if you do not follow the arrival times your vehicle will not be accepted onto the car train.

If the car train does go to our chosen destination, you will have a pleasant journey and will arrive at your location refreshed and relaxed. However, other forms of auto transport may be more appropriate and cause less inconvenience.

Auto Transport When Relocating to Florida

Posted on January 30, 2010 by Cat

Auto transport is a service that you can use when relocating to Florida. Its something that many people are doing nowadays, especially as they get older and the warmer climate promises a better lifestyle. But why do you need to use the services of a car transporter for your Florida move?

When you consider that people move to Florida from all over the USA, then you can understand that the journey can be a long one. In most instances you will hire a furniture removalist to relocate your belongings, and in the same way an auto transport company can help relocate your car.

There are many reasons why using an auto transport service is better than making the long drive to Florida. Firstly, there is the cost of fuel to consider. If you are driving long distances, it is often cheaper to use a bulk car carrier than pay for the fuel to relocate your car.

In addition, with many older people making the move to Florida, the drive is often simply too strenuous with time and distances, so using an auto transport service is preferable.

Of course, the other benefit of an auto transport company is that you dont have to worry about getting lost en-route, as you can simply fly to Florida in comfort and meet up with your car at your destination. The auto transport company will ensure that your vehicle arrives safely on their car carrier so you can start your new life in Florida without any worries.

Unfortunately, what this means is that there has been an onset of unreliable auto shipping companies who will overcharge for a mediocre service.

Domestic and International Auto Transport

Posted on November 18, 2009 by Toni

Auto transport has different requirements depending upon whether your car move is international or domestic. Perhaps one of the biggest considerations for auto transport on an international scale is taking customs regulations into account. These regulations will of course vary depending upon the destination country, so its best to use the services of a specialized auto transport company who can guide you as to exactly the requirements for your car move.

Of course domestic car moves are a different case, while there is no extensive paperwork required, moving a car interstate can be a relatively complex process. For this reason, you can engage the services of an auto transport company who will be able to transport your vehicle on a car carrier, which will significantly lower the cost of your move.

The most important feature that you need to ensure is included in your auto transport service, whether international or domestic is that you have the correct insurance. Reputable carriers will insure your vehicle for the correct replacement value meaning that if any incident occurs during the car move, you will be able to have your vehicle repaired or replaced.

Of course there are many different auto transport companies operating in your area, and it is wise to get a quote for the service you plan on using and receive an estimate of the time the car move is expected to take. Whatever service best meets your needs, taking time to research the best auto transport company for your needs will take all the effort out of successfully relocating your vehicle.
